Polish photography in the world: building a photography collection
The Fort Institute of Photography, together with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the REZO Agency, invite to a debate entitled: "Polish photography in the world: building a photographic collection", with the participation of world-class experts: Brandei Estes, Nicholas Barker and Emese Mucsi. It will be an opportunity to understand international standards for building private and public photography collections. They will discuss issues such as:
- International standards: what to consider when starting to build a photography collection and how to expand it?
- Public practices in building institutional art collections, including photographic collections.
- How is the Polish photography regarded in the context of international public and private collections?
- How to strengthen the emerging art market - including the Polish one - in the world?
The debate „Polish photography in the world: building a photography collection” is an event in anticipation of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025. The meeting will feature the premiere presentation of the concept of a photography exhibition organized in the context of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union 2025 by curators: Emese Mucsi (Capa Center) and Wiktoria Michałkiewicz, PhD. The exhibition will take place in 2025 at the Capa Center in Budapest. The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is the co-organizer of the exhibition.
